Run the Royal Parks Half Marathon for YMCA LSW
06/08/2010
Our Gym and Studio base is at Hampton Pool which is home to a large number of local recreational athletes of all ages and abilities who use the heated outdoor pool and gym and studio throughout the year for cardio and strength training. The pool is run by a charitable trust for the use of the local community and managed by the YMCA London South West.

So, we’re encouraging runners to take part in the Royal Parks Half marathon on the 10th October 2010 to raise funds for community projects. General place entries sold out within 30 minutes for what has quickly become one of the highlights of the UK road running calendar. The Royal Parks Half Marathon is a picturesque 13.1 mile course through four of London's Royal Parks. Starting and ending in Hyde Park, the course goes through the stunning landscapes of St James's Park and Green Park and parts of Kensington Gardens.
Runners also pass famous tourist spots including Buckingham Palace, the Houses of Parliament, Marble Arch, the London Eye and the Royal Albert Hall.
By running for YMCA LSW you will be helping to raise funds for the many
children’s and youth projects the charity runs
There are also many benefits for you including:
- Support from the events fundraising team
- Free pre event training and nutrition session at
Surbiton YMCA's gym
- A YMCA London South West running vest
- Fundraising pack full of helpful advice on
training, nutrition and (of course) fundraising
- Online sponsorship page
- Loud and encouraging cheering spots during the day
- Post-race picnic
If you’d like to take advantage of the above package and think you could raise at least £335 for the YMCA LSW then simply email SarahBarnes@ymcalsw.org
Alternatively, if you have secured your own place for the event YMCA LSW would love to have you as part of our team. You will receive continued and personal support from our Events team who will be on hand to help with all aspects of your preparation.
To join the team please contact Sarah and she will be in touch with you as soon as possible.
